Changelog

Every update, in plain words.

What changed in XSaved for iPhone, release by release, from the first build to the update in testing right now.

In testingNext update

Search reads the whole bookmark. Smart folders get names.

The next update is on the founder’s iPhone right now, getting its last shakedown. It teaches search to read the parts of a bookmark it used to skip, makes Related say why it shows what it shows, and hands you the controls for your Smart folders.

Links, quotes and image text, all searchable

Link cards, X Articles and quoted posts are searchable now, for everyone: a link’s title, description and site, the text of a quoted post and who wrote it. The descriptions authors write for their images count too, and so does the text inside a quoted post’s images.

A typo is not a dead end

When a word matches nothing in your library, XSaved tries the closest word you have saved and says so. A quiet line above the results counts what it found only inside images, links, quoted posts or video, and for Pro, what it found by meaning. While search is still getting ready after launch, it says so.

Related shows only real matches, and says why

The Related row under a post shows only real matches now: a rare tag you share, or a clearly closer meaning, never a generic word in common. When nothing qualifies, it says so. Each related bookmark says why it is there, a shared tag or @handle, or Related by meaning, and a More from @handle row gathers the other posts you saved from that author.

Smart folders, yours to shape

Smart clusters are now Smart folders: the groups XSaved builds on your iPhone from what your bookmarks are about. They appear as soon as your library is grouped and get their names one by one, each drawn from real posts in the group. Rename, pin, hide or merge any of them from its menu, and your changes survive when the library is regrouped. A group that mostly lives in one of your folders takes that folder’s name.

The Account tab now shows what has been analyzed on this device, and that the work runs while charging, so you can see why a Pro feature is still warming up.

Release

XSaved for iPhone is on the App Store.

This is the day every update below was building toward: XSaved for iPhone is on the App Store. It is free to download, Pro is an optional upgrade, and your whole library of X bookmarks lives on your iPhone, ready when you are.

Download it today

Sign in to X from the app and your bookmarks come straight in, right on your iPhone. Then search everything you have saved, file posts into your own folders, add notes and tags, and clear the backlog with Tidy Up. All of that is free, and it is not a trial. Pro adds search by meaning, Smart folders and Related, and all of it runs on your iPhone.

Thank you

To everyone who tested the beta: the version on the App Store is better for the time you gave it. And to everyone who joined the launch list and waited for this day: thank you for waiting. This one is for you.

1.8.0

Built for the App Store.

The release built for the App Store, and the first one you could download there. Most of it you feel rather than see: a library that opens faster and scrolls without a hitch, a phone that stays cool while you browse, and sync that no longer needs watching. Signing in got simpler too: your email and a six-digit code, no password.

Opens faster, scrolls smoother

Your library is stored one bookmark at a time now instead of as one giant file: launch is roughly twice as fast at 5,000 bookmarks, and an edit no longer rewrites everything you have saved. Big libraries scroll without micro-jumps, tabs switch smoothly, and bookmarks arriving mid-scroll wait for a natural pause instead of shoving the card you were reading.

A phone that stays cool

The work that makes search, suggested tags and Smart clusters smarter now runs only while your phone is charging, never against your first scroll after launch. A day stack that cannot be summarized is left alone for a week instead of being retried endlessly, which is most of why a charging, untouched phone stays cool now. And opening XSaved no longer interrupts your music.

Sync you do not have to watch

Notes, tags and folders edited on another device arrive on their own while the app is open; no more pulling to refresh over and over. While a sync runs, a small XSaved mark with a beam of light passing over it sits at the left of the Home top bar, and fades when the sync is done. Disconnecting a profile sends your unsaved changes first and tells you what would be lost.

Your account, in plain words

Type your email, enter the six-digit code, and you are in. One flow creates your account or signs into the one your email already owns, so a second device never makes a duplicate. Settings lists your passkeys: add one per device, or remove any. And you can delete your XSaved account from inside the app, after a confirmation, without touching your bookmarks on X or the library on this iPhone.

1.7.0

Pro arrives.

The biggest update so far. XSaved Pro arrives, Tidy Up turns your backlog into a deck of cards, and the app learns who you keep saving from. Also in the box: a dark appearance, one library per X account, a Profile tab rebuilt from scratch, and a bolder icon.

XSaved Pro

Pro is an optional subscription, monthly or yearly. It unlocks search by meaning, Smart clusters and related bookmarks; importing, browsing and keyword search stay free, and every Pro feature runs on your iPhone. A new XSaved Pro row in Account holds Restore Purchases and your subscription.

Tidy Up

A full-screen deck deals your unsorted bookmarks one at a time. Swipe left to archive, which keeps the post safe on X and just out of your grids, right to keep, up to file it into a folder. Tidy Up gets a home on the Home tab: a quick pile of your next cards, day stacks to swipe one moment in time, a time capsule of your oldest unsorted saves, and your archive, restorable with a swipe or deletable for real, always behind a confirmation.

Authors, Notes, and a menu under your thumb

A people icon in the Home top bar opens Authors: everyone you have ever saved from, ranked by how many of their posts you kept, each with a short line written on your iPhone about what you save from them (on supported iPhones). A new Notes screen collects every note you have written as a grid. Press and hold any card and it lifts into the native menu: read the note, add to a folder, edit the note or tags, share, or archive with an Undo right there.

Dark, per-account, rebuilt

Pick System, Light or Dark on the Profile tab and every surface follows. Each X account keeps its own separate library on this device, so two accounts can never mix, and switching between them from your profile is instant. First launch is one guided setup: connect X on X’s own page, watch your bookmarks stream in, start using the library.

1.5.0

Folders. Then the library sorts itself.

Three releases in one day, and the largest leap the app had taken. Folders arrive and stay identical on every device, your library starts sorting itself into topics on your iPhone, and the whole app got a new grid, a new bottom bar and a proper welcome.

Folders, on every device

A Folders row sits above your grid on Home. Create one, tap it to filter, and file a bookmark into any number of folders from its page, from a long-press on its card, or many at once with the new Select button. Folders sync to your XSaved account and stay the same everywhere. Your existing X bookmark folders come in on their own, and renaming or deleting one reaches X too.

Topics, related saves, suggested tags

XSaved now groups your bookmarks into topics on your iPhone, in the background, with no button to press. They live as a row of Smart chips at the top of Search, and Promote to Folder turns one into a real folder, the chip lifting off and flying to the Home tab. Open a post and a new Related row shows other saves linked to it by shared tags and similar meaning, and suggested tags XSaved found in the text sit beneath your own.

A new grid, a new bar, a real welcome

Photos, videos and articles now show as pure media tiles, edge to edge, while text posts sit in a white card with the author on top. Search now ranks every bookmark by how well it matches your words across text, author, tags and notes. Home, Search and Profile share one floating bar at the bottom, and the top bar fades away as you scroll.

New installs open to a calm welcome screen with a single Connect X account button. The Search tab groups your saves into stacks by day; press and hold one to peek. On ProMotion iPhones the grid scrolls at the full 120 frames a second, and chip taps and folder actions got a light haptic touch.

1.4.0

Thousands of bookmarks, one smooth scroll.

A small release with one big job: make the grid hold up under a real library. Rebuilt from the ground up, it stays smooth through thousands of bookmarks and lands the cards in tidy, even columns.

Bookmarks that arrive on their own

New saves appear in the grid by themselves, and pull to refresh grabs the latest.

Pictures that keep up

Each grid image now downloads a thumbnail-sized version, warmed up just before it scrolls into view, and downloads for the cards you fly past are cancelled, so media fills in quickly instead of lagging behind blank cards. Grid videos autoplay again.

1.3.0

Your real bookmarks, and videos that come alive.

Two releases in one day. Sign in with X and your real bookmarks fill the grid; until then it shows sample bookmarks so it is never empty. Videos autoplay as you scroll, quoted posts show what they quote, and every card settles into one calm tile.

Sign in with X

Sign in with your X account from the new Account screen and XSaved brings in your saved bookmarks, refreshing them whenever you open the app.

Videos come alive

Video bookmarks autoplay in the grid, muted and looping, and open with full controls and sound. Only the clips on screen play, each streams a copy sized to its tile, and a clip you have watched replays instantly, so a grid full of video stays smooth and light on data and battery.

One calm tile

Photos, text, videos and quoted posts all sit in the same rounded, gently lifted card with the author at the bottom. A bookmark that quotes another post shows the quoted post as a nested card. The share sheet’s save screen grew up too, with your previous tags as one-tap suggestions and a bigger note field.

1.1.0

Out of its window, into the rest of iOS.

Three days after the first build, XSaved steps out of its own window: save from any app, ask Siri, keep your latest bookmarks on the Lock Screen.

Save from anywhere

Tap Share on a post or a web page in any app and pick Save to XSaved to keep the link with tags and a note, without switching apps. Save to XSaved and Search XSaved also work by voice with Siri, from Spotlight, and as Shortcuts actions.

On your Home Screen and Lock Screen

A Recent Bookmarks widget shows your latest saves on the Home Screen and the Lock Screen. Links can open the app straight to a search or a bookmark, and bookmarks now live in one store shared by the app, the share sheet and the widget: save in one place, see it everywhere.

1.0.0

It begins with a grid.

The first build of XSaved for iPhone, and the foundation everything since is built on. Not much yet, and all of it fast.

The grid, the post, the search

A fast, image-forward grid of your saved bookmarks. Tap one and it zooms open into a detail view with the full media, your notes and your tags. A search field filters as you type.

Liquid Glass, and the mark

Navigation on Liquid Glass, and the XSaved brand in place from day one: the icon, the in-app logo, the launch screen.
